  a friend sent me these lyrics awhile ago.. thought i would share them.

  they are from a group called klaatu, i have'nt actually heard the song, but the lyrics are inspirational.

  the final chorus is my fave.. hope lyrics by klaatu.

  Quick question about KMs

  do the boes give kms to the inactive?

  in the time that i was considered "irregular" they would send me the km by way of my dad, but it seems that i haven't received any since i've been on the inactive list since a few months ago.

  i'm certainly not upset over this, and i frankly don't care, but i'm just curious as to if the org thinks the inactive shouldn't receive one.. robert.

  I guess we aren't entitled to certain information the WTS gives out when we're not in the fold anymore.

  Nope, towards the end I had a hard time getting a KMs. Even when I wasn't technically "inactive" I sometimes had a hard time getting one. It go so that that was one more meeting I wasn't going to go to if I didn't have the proper materials to follow along with.

  I'm hoping the new "members only" WT will have the same effect on people.

  dear friends,.

  much of what we do on a daily basis is routine and of no particular, earth-shaking importance.

  however, after reviewing letters of family going back to wwii, it is fascinating to read what dad was doing on board the aircraft carrier in the pacific on any old day, what mom was cooking on her ever-steaming range, how i was dealing with the roller coaster of emotion at bethel [mom saved all my letters], how nana wrote that she would not study with the witnesses [per my request] but 'here are some mittens i knitted for you when you canvass new york with your magazines.

  Just wanted to say a hello to *summer* if she's reading this. She should be out of the hospital today if everything went according to plan.

  Kinda dreary here today. We are supposed to get rain, possibly even a thunderstorm (I hope so because I love thunderstorms!), then the temp is expected to drop and we will get lots of blowing snow. Wild weather!

  They just said it was some isolated events and the reports couldn't be true. They just won't believe that they have been bamboozled by the GB at Bethel!

  Geeze! It can't be true eh? Oh no, it's on a National Nightly News program, seen across North America. Oh no, there's no way this can be true! If it wasn't the WT would be on their ass with a lawsuit even before the piece aired!

  Bamboozled just doesn't cover it.

  Taste/Scent Related Memories - Have you ever had one of those....

  have you ever had one of those intoxicating moments where you are walking down a supermarket aisle and you suddenly caught a perfume that you'd not smelt since you were small and it brought back a flood of memories, your first grade teacher, an auntie?

  or a taste?

  i just had a taste moment - i kind of feel bad about admitting to it though.

  Absolutely. Scents are invariably tied to memory. Some good, some bad.

  I love to go for a drive in the country when the farmers are cutting the hay. The smell of the freshly cut hay brings back pleasant memories from my childhood.

  The smell of lilacs reminds me of the abandonded farm house I used to frequent. I'd go there and lay in the old yard, surrounded by the blooming lilac trees, inhaling their sweet scent, picturing what life must have been like there many many years ago. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, crickets chirping, the grass is soft and sweet. *sigh* I can't wait for spring!

  Perfume of a favourite teacher, cologne from an old boyfriend. The smell of apple pie that I used to help my gran prepare. I could go on.

  Not even for a funeral, nor a wedding... I'll see you guys where the drinks are.

  I'll have to second that Mastadon! There have been several funerals since I've left, and I just couldn't go. I know that is selfish of me, I know how much I appreciated all that came for my fathers funeral, but I couldn't do it. I sent a card and flowers instead. The only funeral I'd go to would be my mothers or sisters if anything were to happen. BB

  Ian (Dansk) in hospital with CMV

  hi, everyone ---.

  claire asked me to let the board know that ian is back in the hospital and expected to be there for about a week.. those of you who have been following the weekly vigil thread know that his cmv has returned.

  the virus is not responding adequately to the tablets, so ian needs to be medicated intravenously.. please keep ian and claire in your prayers.. marjorie.
